When you write about personal finance specifically debt reduction, you often receive a lot of email containing questions. Since you put your personal business "out there" people tend to feel they can ask prying questions. The biggest controversy with personal finance involves three issues: kids (to have them or not), pets (either you own one or you don't) and hobbies (do you keep them if they are expensive?)
Funny, when it comes to people who love golf...expenses don't matter. Perhaps since the sport is costly, most of those who participate can usually afford it. After visiting this site, I see why most golfers are in high paying positions. The site The World of Golf has reasonable prices, but they are still pretty high (at least I think) for a hobby. Let me give you an example of the price range of some golf clubs. There is a Big Bertha Fusion FT-3 Drivers listed on SALE for $299.95. Yes, you read that correctly. By the way, that's for just one driver. Not a set of clubs, just ONE. If you wanted to buy a set, it would run you at least $499.00. Woah. You better really like golf, to spend that kind of money!
You know, I'm glad that my hobby is blogging. It doesn't cost me anything and I make money from it, instead of losing money. It's a win-win situation for me. I think I'll stick to it! So what about you. What's your hobby and how much does it cost you? (Don't forget to add expenses such as babysitting and gas. Give a clear picture!)
