I Love Being A Part Of The PayPerPost.com Revolution!!

This is the type of stuff I would have loved doing (before my kids came along)! Now, it's difficult to do things like this with the kids, but hey......I could have brought them with me. I'm sure they have a lot to say. I'm always "hogging up" the computer writing for Payperpost.com!!!!!!

Ted Murphy is a genius. He went with several people to NYC with a PLAN! He had signs made up in the colors of the payperpost.com website. It looked like a cartoon balloon. Next the group had t-shirts made up with payperpost.com across the front. They handed them out to the Today show crowd with markers, so that they could fill out the cartoon balloon. How's that for free advertising! I know, I know it's redundant...but I wish I cuold have been there! I'm sorry I missed the show, but mornings are hectic for me. Getting 6 of the 7 kids out of the house in the morining takes all my energy and attention.

What did I learn about buiness marketing and advetising from PayPerPost.com's Guerilla Marketing?
1. Business marketing and advertising doesn't have to cost much. They got national coverage for the price of some t-shirts and signs.
2. Think outside of the box, NEVER be afraid of using different techniques to advertise and market your business.
3. Be excited about your business and be contagious. You want others to feel just as excited about your business as you do. This brings success!
4. Dare to be bold! I'm sure they made some bigwigs turn and notice them!
5. Take action. Take things into your own hands. MAKE things happen!

I just love what they did and I'm toying with the idea of getting the kids to do a commerical for the site. They've been models in the past and The Diva wants to be an actress, so ....

Personal Finances in Crisis Mode ...Again.

Sometimes I feel like I am under a curse. It seems like no matter how much money I make, it's gone before I even get it in my account. Unexpected expenses are choking me. What unexpected expenses? How much time do you have?

First of all, the furniture was just a sore to look at. I had it removed. I can't stand looking at it. No living room funriture. My Little One (5 yr old autistic son) has sensory integration dysfunction. This is why I purchased a trampoline years ago. Well, when he's in the house he jumps on the sofas and the beds. Well, he broke my bed and the sofas. Now they need to be replaced. Instead of having an accident occur with the broken items, I had them removed.

The washing machine, electric can opener and lawn mower all died. The lawn mower I just bought in July or Augsut of this year. Luckily, The Little One's dad bought a can opener and washing machine for us. My washing machine broke earlier last year and my ex-husband gave me an old extra one he had sitting ouside his home. It was pretty old. I was grateful anyway. Apparently the millions of loads of laundry I do a week finished it off. Remember that in a household with so many people, nothing will have normal wear and tear. I use everything more than the average household. EVERYTHING! Anyway, I'm grateful for the new washer and electric can opener. I was using an old fashioned hand powered can opener and it wouldn't work. I had to cook without anything that was canned for that time. No beans, no canned vegetables or tuna fish.

The Princess lost her glasses. She was due for a new prescription, but it could have waited at least until next month. Not now. Now, I need to get them ASAP. The Diva also needs new glasses. The Entrepreneur and the Comdeian need eye exams too. I have been wearing glasses since the torn contact lens incident. I really didn't want to spend the money on the contacts, until I had the cash. I'm still going to wait. The kids need glasses more than I need the contacts.

The kids need to go to the dentist. Two of them need either oral surgery or braces... After all these years, I got a cavity. Actually, I got two. Now I have to go as well. I tell you, never a dull moment.

Three of the kid's beds went kaput. When it rains it pours... A great thanks to my parents that just visited me yesterday! They purchased a new link spring for The Chatterbox's daybed. They wanted to buy her a new bed, but the only thing wrong with her daybed was that the link spring caved in the middle. Final cost: $86.49. Better than the price of a new bed...

I woke up on Thurday to find a flat tire. I just bought new tires this year. Well, I have an inflator, but when it kept deflating...I just knew it needed to be replaced. On Friday, I took it in. After the guy looked at it, he said "$72.78 for a new tire and installation". I paid it because I need my car to function AND be safe. After all, I drive my kids in it.

Haven't been able to catch up with the cards. This is not good. You would think that with the money I'm earning now things would be better. Instead, everything has been breaking down which causes me to have spend on other things that were not factored in. This is why an emergency fund is so important. Unfortunately, I haven't even been able to pay off the debt or start a fund.

After all these unfortunate events I have good news. I have not used my cards once. For anything! That is the best outcome of this bad season. At least this time, I can pay for the tire and not have to charge it! Believe it or not, that is something to celebrate...

What have I learned?
1. An emergency fund is a necessity. I will be putting a small amount aside to start an emergency fund. Hey, every little bit helps.
2. I don't use my cards unless I don't have any other alternative. I would rather think of a creative way of coming up with what I need than using them!
3. It's ok to do without some things until you actually can afford it. (I'm talking about the furniture).
4. I really, really hate debt.

Auto Refinancing?

This is an interesting service that I wanted to share. It has the potential to help someone save several hundreds or even thousands of dollars on their car payment. This company is for Auto Refinance. I wasn't aware that refinancing was possible for auto loans. I thought it was just for mortgages. The company states they can do all of the following.
Lower Your Interest Rate
Reduce Your Monthly Auto Payment
Skip Payments for Up to 90 Days
Save Thousands

I'm curious as to the way they earn their money. It sounds like a great opportunity that can save a customer lots of money. Isn't that what the personal finance blogs are all about? If anyone tries this service, keep me posted.

Personal Loans vs. Credit Card Interest

Here is a site about http://www.personal-loans-lender.com that you might want to visit. It's called Bad Credit Personal Loans & Payday Loans. If you need money for an emergency, you can see if you qualify for a payday cash loan. It may be better than paying high interest rates on your credit card. The best part is that they state they can help people with poor credit to obtain a loan as well. As always, do your research and make sure you read the fine print. Every situation is different. This may be an excellent alternative for one person, but a bad one for another. Make sure you do your homework!

Two Resources That Can Help Your Personal Finances

If you've been reading my blog for some time, you already know why I went on a quest to find ways to earn money online. Besides being a mom to 7 kids, I deal with issues like having a blended family (2 of my kids are non bio), ADD, autism and lots of debt. Working from home is the ideal situation for me!

I'm constantly finding new resources on the net. Today I came across a new forum and after sharing what I know I realized, "Hey! I didn't blog about that!" So, that is the reason for this post. Stay at home moms, college students, disabled individuals, retirees and others can really benefit from the following site I have found.

WorkPlaceLikeHome.com is a great resource for anyone that wants to work from home. It is a forum made up of people that work for companies from the comfort of their homes. Many of the companies hire people to do customer service from their homes at different times of the day and night. You know, they're the ones that answer the informercial calls. The members of this forum share all the inside details of how to get hired, the tests you have to take, the track record of the company and much more. Each company has their own thread. If you want to know more about a company, you post a question and the members answer it. The best thing about this forum is that it is monetized with google. You can enter your google code and when you post a thread, if someone clicks on the ad...you make money. That's just a plus. If you are in need of a job with benefits, you might want to look into this forum.

For those of you that wish to work from home by using "get paid to blog" sites, writing articles, writing reviews, surveys or other online opportunities-I created this site: MAKING MONEY ONLINE . It has tutorials to help you maximize profits. I put it together because I wished that someone had done this when I was desperately searching for legitimate companies that actually pay. I spent years researching and now you get to benefit from it...for FREE.

I'm currently testing some new sites. As soon as they pay me, I'll post a review of the site. Until then, checkout the above link and make some money to get out of debt!

Target Credit Cards: Money for the School of Your Choice

For two years I have been involved with a great program Target's Credit Card services offer. They have a special program called Take Charge of Education. Target then donates a percentage of your purchases to the school of your choice. There's no catch! Here is an excerpt from their site:

Once enrolled, 1% of your REDcard purchases at Target and Target.com and 1/2% of Target® Visa® purchases elsewhere are donated to the eligible K–12 school of your choice.* For some schools, it adds up to as much as $10,000 a year, distributed twice a year, in March and September. Donations are available to any K–12 public, private or parochial school that has a 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) tax-exempt status. See Take Charge of Education program rules for more information.

It's a great program, but you have to take action. They only donate money if you assign a school. So, what if you don't have kids? Assign the school in your district. If you're a young couple, you will probably have kids someday. It may be the school your kids attend in the future! You can also donate the money to the school of a niece, nephew or grandchild. They made it so easy. They have the schools listed by zipcode. You can enter your grandchild's zipcode and the elementary, middle school and high school will come up on the search! Every September and March , Target sends a check to the school's principal. The school can use it they way they want. Now if you have children and need to buy school supplies, this is not a bad deal. Educating your child takes money, you know that everytime you pay your school tax! Take advantage of this great program and let the school be pleasantly surprised to receive a check! Tell all your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Some of us are paying lots of interest to credit cards, we might as well take advantage of these pleasant surprises!

Home Based Businesses: Planning Your Day

Working from home is the most convenient way for me to earn income. Having 7 kids, I never know when I may get a phone call from the school and the next minute I'll have to drive there. There are way too many things that can go wrong. For this reason, I am grateful that I have found many ways to earn money that I can integrate into my busy lifestyle.

There are a few things that have helped me stay on track and I thought that I would share them with you.

Create Boundaries
1. There are family members, loved ones, neighbors and other people that may not consider your employment to be "real work". Just because you don't leave your home doesn't mean you're not working. Whether you are a blogger, an affiliate marketer, or a tupperware consultant-you need to set boundaries. Don't let others monopolize your time. Don't let others volunteer you to bake goodies for the troops because "you're home anyway".
2. Create a space where you can stay away from distractions. The TV, the phone and the world for that matter can wait. If it's not an emergency, you can TiVo, check your answering machine or take a rain check for that lunch date.

Set Goals
1. You need to write down specific goals.
2. Calculate the amount of money you need to earn and do it. Easier said then done? Not really. If you are involved in a home based business like Tupperware or MaryKay you have easy ways to calculate what you need to do. Figure out how much you need to cover your expenses. The next step is to break down the actions you have to perform to reach your goal. Let's say that you need to make $150.00 a day to meet your expenses. If you sell a product, you can either set a goal to sell 10 $15.00 dollar products or 2 $75.00 purchases per day.
3. Try to meet your goals daily. If you meet your goals earlier that week, you can either take a day off or continue working and save the profit!

Know When to Take a Break
1. Being at home doesn't mean you work all the time. Schedule a time to work and a time to play. Burn out comes quickly when you are in the same situation day after day. Learn to relax, the way you work. Give it 100%!
2. Don't forget to eat! When you're at a place of business, lunch is usually scheduled. Learn to take a lunch break. Your body will thank you for it!
3. If there are too many distractions for you at home to really realx, take a walk. Exercise is good for the body and the soul.

Learn To Adjust to Situations to Complete Your Tasks
In my life, there is little time for a break. I'm either working or caring for the kids. I take a break when I sleep. I can't always get to a computer to write these entries, so I carry a notepad with me. When I am at a park with the kids, I try to jot down the entries. That's why there are weeks that you don't see a post and all of a sudden you see four or five on a Friday. Even then, The Little One often cups my chin to speak to me and .... you'll always know due to the typing errors. I try to type things out so quickly, typing errors often go undetected until days later. Using a pen and paper is how I deal with the disruption in the routine. The writing still gets done, even though it's not on the schedule I would like. There are things that you just can't change, so you need to change to deal with them.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Whew...I can't wait for school to start. I love my kids, but The Little One can drain anyone. He's like the energizer bunny...he keeps ticking and ticking and ticking...
